The construction season has begun.  Downtown Sycamore faces a very serious challenge as Route 64 will be ripped up, including sidewalks, for much of the summer season. The plan is to not close down 64 completely but instead have one side of the street open for traffic.  Parking may prove difficult.

I think some businesses might be in trouble.  It's tough enough surviving in these Big Box Store times as an independent small business operator.

Sure, when the renovations are complete, Downtown Sycamore is going to be really neat.  Old fashioned street lights will add an ambience to the historic district.

Do you have any promotional ideas that the Downtown merchants should try to keep shoppers coming?
