I've just been made aware that the Sycamore dispatch center is considering shutting its doors and having DeKalb County Sheriff's office handle calls for police and fire. What a disappointing thing to have happen to such a great city. What about the hometown atmosphere this community is trying so hard to promote when it now wants to give up control to another entity. Are we going to be able to seek help in person 24 hours a day 7 days a week if the center is closed down? I can't believe this information is just now getting out. I will attending the Sycamore City Council meeting on Monday Aug 5 to voice my opinion on this matter. Sycamore needs to take care of its own and remain the hometown it strives so hard to be.
